C3 HDi 1.6 - Air Pollution Fault

Post by hcsmgb »

Hi All,

Forgive me for asking cos I'm new on here, but has anyone else had problems with their 59 plate C3 Picasso when the above warning displays?

The vehicle is struggling to start each morning, and sometimes only drives in 'limp home' mode. Other times, it's fine. Diagnostic checks haven't picked anything up so far, and as I know it doesn't have a DPF, what could be causing the fault? A local garage say they think it could be the fuel filter that needs replacing and some additive putting in the tank. Is this correct before I authorise the work, and will it do the trick?

The display will actually be saying "Antipollution fault" this could mean many things, as there must be at least 100 faults that could cause this message.
A check on Diagbox will show you what the fault is, it's not possible to see this message & no fault be there.
Fuel filter is a possibility, but I would spen the £40 on a proper diagnostic personally.

Might be someone near you with the kit that could interrogate it for a few beer tokens....http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/v ... 19&t=29178" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
