Screen clean

Post by cooter »

Is there any way of adjusting the screen wash nozzle on my C4 GP?
Every time I use the screen wash, the left passenger side is fine but the drivers side goes straight over the roof.
A bit dangerous this time of the year with the roads being so dirty.

With a cloth pin, needle maybe? Push it in the nozzle, and the ball bearing should be adjustable, to suit your target location. Or maybe it has a bit of dirt in it, small enough to divert the normal fluid burst.

Tried that vborovic but nothing moved, tried that hard that the blunt end of the pin went through the skin on my thumb #-o

Then if it is the fixed version, I'd say it is clogged (or damaged even) ... you could try opening the hood, and unplugging the hose that goes to the troublesome nozzle, and try to connect it to another water/air source (or just try blowing through it hard), maybe something will come loose ... or, you'll figure out it really is damaged somehow, in which case the best solution would be to get a replacement

Not had any trouble with ours, may not be adjustable as they are fan type - suspect therefore that yours is partially blocked. New jet is only £5 from the dealer (or half that on e-bay) so not a disaster if you have to change. Not hitting the screen will mean MOT fail....

Never thought of that, & it's MOT time in March.

I am NOT certain about this, but I think I had a similar issue on the company Octavia when I got it, and I found that the whole nozzle unit could be moved, changing the aim point (as opposed to merely moving the nozzle itself).

Got it all cleaned out but it still goes over the roof.
I popped the nozzle back out & put a thin bit of plastic under it & refitted the nozzle. Job done & working great.
