The Citroen DocBackup lists the procedure for disconnecting the battery on a C5 X7 as.......

BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure

So if it's good enough for Citroen....... :)
Sadly no longer a C5 owner :(

I had once parking brake fault and the parking brake wouldn´t release automatically, or with switch. I released it manually, drove home and re-charged battery. The car has worked flawlessly since that. I got also fuse box 9675877980 changed because once my indicators acted strangely, and economy mode was frequent.
