bsi and keys

Hi lads haven't been on for a while im after buying a used bsi and ecu from a 51 plate c5 which came with all locks and ignition and remote which i currently dont have do i have to change all the locks or can i just replace the blade on the key also does anyone know if the transponder is on the remote board or in the little black circular bit. [-o<

If they are constructed like the Xantia Keys - which I think they are you only need to swap the transponder chip cwhich is in the black part of the swivel blade.

Remove the blade from the PLIPPER and see if one of the sides will come away .. the chip should be in there.

Im sure theres only a remote control circuit board in the key body. This then will same swapping door locks.

cheers for that citroenxm its an egg shape remote if that is the case i cant take the transponder out as it must be moulded into the head however i do believe i can remove the blade if i knew the transponder isnt formed onto the blade area any thoughts im half afraid to try this as im afraid of bricking the key 8-[

Cable tie the transponder key on the steering column somewhere and use the original key. Should work!
