Re: VN05N discontinued :(
Be worth getting a few in stock methinks but generally they are pretty reliable..
They're rather more than a transistor, they're actually an Integrated Circuit...

Re: VN05N discontinued :(
That's useful Bob, Thanks
To be honest, my experience of the Hydractive ECU is that generally the VN05 is a very reliable component as it's very heavily protected against a lot to situations that could damage it... I’ve not personally (yet) known one to fail. That's not to say they don't occasionally but that's my experience.
Even extended periods of running with the electrovalve back-emf diodes duff don't seem to hurt them that often in my experience.
The ECU can shut down due to a detected electrovalve fault and this may look like a duff VN05 at first glance. Before condemning an VN05 it is good to read the ECU with a Lexia and clear any stored faults.

Wel i'm finding it quite hard to find someone with a lexia tbh. Did you see I may run the suspension off an Arduino if I loose patience? lol yes really

Re: VN05N discontinued :(
Yea he does, but last time I saw him he didn't have it with him, plus I'm not sure when I'll down his way way again. I've contacted two people off that Lexia locations map, but I don't think either one are so active nowadays (Damian and Paul-R). I'll be going up to scarborough soon, anyone on that route? (liverpool to scarborough)?
