What's involved in registering her in the UK as she stands?

That procedure may well have a bearing on her current value to UK residents...

I wouldn't make any kind of offer until I'm in possession of the full facts...

Is there any service history with this car? When was the cambelt last changed for instance?

I think i will book MOT slot in garrage, and after it it all will be clear, if it will need lots off money spending to put it right or not.

Importing them isn't that difficult. You need to have it insured (insurance companies can insure a car by the chassis number, they don't NEED to have a registration number) and it needs to have a valid MOT.

Other then that you fill in a couple of forms and send them to the DVLA along with a cheque to cover the cost of some road tax.

Jim, MTXM over on Club-XM would be the best person to ask as he has imported a 24v XM from Germany. He had to jump through hoops though as he wanted a registration number to match it's build date (1991 H plate) rather then the date it was registered (1992 K plate).

Thanks David,

That sounds a lot easier than I thought it might... I had an idea it could be a right nightmare...

I'm not worried what number it has....

Right, let me know the result of the MOT and I may then be in a position to make a provisional valuation although I'd need to inspect the car closely to make a final one.

Funny you should say that Mike.. I've just been discussing that question with the other members of Team WFA and the answer is none of them. It would add to the fleet...

No way can I part with my present Activa or V6.. Both of them I've had a long time and they're special to me...

In addition there may also be some duty as in VAT to pay dependant upon where the car originates from and its age, when I imported my DS it was deemed that due to it's age it was exempt from duty.

Hi,

Been for MOT today and found 3 dangerous leaks on LHM fluid, 1 in front and 2 in back.
Maybe someone can drop me links where can i buy roll of pipe for suspension work and nuts,
Maybe someone will lend me or rent me a flaring tool too
I want to do all plumbing in 1 go and forget about it forever.

You need to be more specific about where the leaks are, as there are different sized pipes and fittings. Most of the leaks are usually from rubber or plastic return pipes, or from the electrovalves or Activa rams.
