I think generally mileage can't be fiddled with these days of electronic displays. I remember reading something in here which said that when changing dash display the higher mileage component will always be the one that is stored, even if the real mileage is less than the replacement.

I think miles is stored in the BSI so maybe it's had a new BSI at some point?

2001 might or might not be multiplexed, and therefore mileage might be anywhere! I believe you are right Rob and on later cars is stored in the pod and BSI, and the pod displays the higher of the two (but updates the BSI if it is a higher mileage so replacing the original does not set the mileage back.

Don't believe you can adjust with Lexia - but there are plenty of firms out there advertising 'mileage correction' services - no idea how easy it is on a BSI car though. Lexia might let you see previous service points which would show mileage when faults were cleared.

On-line MOT database now goes back about 6 years, so that will give a good progression of recent mileages.

The synergie is not multiplexed so the mileage is only stored in the instrument panel, simply changing the panel changes the mileage.
If anything electronic mileage displays have made clocking easier, the majority can be done via the OBD port with the right software. However there is no facility to do it using lexia.
