Permament fault : rear RH/LH sensor coherence

Post by garyfitz123 »

Hi,

So my 2003 Citroen C5 threw up the abs fault/ESP not functioning warning last week. After a day or so it started throwing up "Braking fault" on the screen as well, along with the STOP light in the middle of the clocks.

I put the car on lexia and it is bringing up two faults

permament fault : rear RH wheel sensor coherence
permament fault : rear LH wheel sensor coherence

Is this a sign of two faulty ABS sensors??

What does Lexia say the speeds are when the car is stationary - and when it is rolling, compared to the front ones?

edit : When stationary all sensors read 0kph

The front two sensors are reading what looks like correct values, and the rear sensors are constantly reading 0kph

You would have to be really unlucky for 2 sensors to fail at the same time, what's the chances ? Might be worth pulling the plug off the ABS ECU & checking for water/corrosion, same with the rear sensor connectors.

Was thinking it would be very strange!!

Now silly question...where can one find the abs ECU??

The ABS ecu is in the engine bay on the left hand side of the car kind of behind the under bonnet fuse box, you will see brake pipes going to the unit.
