Hi , this was fixed by fitting a new Injector .............as it eventually wouldn't start properly at all. RAC cam out and diagnosed injctor failiure.
Garage had the injector tested and it was a fail. New second hand one fitted and good as NEW !

Hi wizaird,
if she took in a lot of water the engine could be toast did you check to see if she's burning oil or does she sound unusual when you rev her i.e a bit clunky only I killed my engine last year same symptoms. I doubt it If theres not loads of smoke but surface water is a big problem with these cars due to the low breather. Just a quick tip for all if your breather flexi looks a bit iffy take it off and take off the rain coat and wrap the felt duct itself with silage tape or some other type of waterproof tape even wide insulation tape it just might save your engine because this is how mine took in the water. by the way wizaird id be very intrested in that afm by the way that you suggested in my other post. again i hope im wrong about the water
