Wiper removal
Having a small issue with the near side wiper arm which I think needs adjustment. I realised this when hearing a knock when the wipers were on and found out that the wiper was overshooting and hitting the right column. Tried to remove and reposition but it seems you need a special tool to do that?

Re: Wiper removal
Yep, a small wiper removal tool is needed. Laser Tools part # 3173, Sealey Tools # 11656, Draper Tools # 71462, Silverline Tools 702445 are all a close design to the genuine Citroen (part# 1371-C). Prices start from a gnats under £6.00 on ebay.

Re: Wiper removal
I could have done with one of those yesterday Bobins, would have saved me at least an hour and a half on the job I was doing
Clio-Windscreen Washer Motor replacement
mole grips, spanners, screwdrivers, wd40 (yes I know plus gas is better but it was all that was available at the time), blood, sweat, swearing, tears....
regards Neil

Non of these will do the job I am afraid as the base is too narrow.

Re: Wiper removal
There's the 2 jaw puller type which will go from 6-28mm opening, but these might end up damaging the wiper arm as access isn't brilliant to the base of the arm
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CAR-VAN-WIPER ... 35dbf7b577" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
but the proper removal kits are probably the best bet as they cover a wide range of sizes and are virtually the same design as the Citroen tool for the job.
Info here: http://www.sonic-equipment.com/downloads/en/812001.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
....and you'll see that this much cheaper Bergen kit bares a striking resemblance to the more expensive kits out there
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BERGEN-8pc-Wi ... 43cc880547" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Sealey also do a kit (VS808) that does the same job.

Re: Wiper removal
I've ordered the jaw puller type to give it a try. If I reposition the arm will this solve the problem?

Re: Wiper removal
Having just braved the pissistent rain out there to have a look.... there are small 'v' alignment marks on (behind) the windscreen glass which the wipers should align with when parked in their 'down' position i.e. not in their 'up' maintenance position. Look around the area of the tip of each blade. They aren't very clear as they're black on a black background, but they are there to align the wipers when reinstalling the arms on their spindles.

Re: Wiper removal
I would use two strips of masking tape, one on either side of the alignment marks, to help make re-alignment easier.

The wipers can be parked vertically for easy removal:

Re: Wiper removal
Can't remove them when they are parked vertically. Only way to access the wipers is with the bonnet open all the way.Clogzz wrote:The wipers can be parked vertically for easy removal:

Can't believe how much force was required to remove the wiper. Done it at the end and all ok now.

Re: Wiper removal
It still has splines and a nut, but the problem is that the spring pushes the wiper against the windscreen, so that it’s impossible to pull straight.
