I do not have a Lexia system but own a newly developed SVDI PSA commander, can that diagnose abs sensor?

If it will talk to an S2 Xantia it should be able to Dave but be aware the Xantia is not EOBD II even though the socket looks like it is...

N/S/F calliper replaced, so handbrake now reliable (it lets go when it should). Now got to replace the O/S/R ABS sensor (after Plus Gassing the 3 bolts on the heat shield). That one shows infinite resistance.

Like me, a duff front sensor. I've always found the sensor bolts are liable to round off and mole grips tricky just there. In case you get interested, The sockets I mentioned above were great for the job - cost me £19 for 8mm to about 16 or 18mm and was delivered next day, last Sunday.

I have got a set of Aston Super Wrenches. Although the head is a bit large, if it can get a grip it hangs on like a bull mastiff!

I gratefully received Richard's brake pipe, and stripped off mine in preparation. Both 3.5mm pipe seals stayed put in their respective sockets (calliper and k-splitter).

:?: What's the trick in removing these, ready for replacements? I don't really want to try using the old ones…. not best practice.

A pair of pointed tweezers John. Grab hold of the seal with the tweezers and screw it out...

Cheers Jim, I'll get a pair of those - something I wanted for my first aid kit anyway. :-)

A reasonable alternative (provided you do not intend to re-use the seals) is a thin woodscrew. It does knacker the seal, but it gets them out.

That's what occurred to me James, but wasn't sure. Anyway, found some tweezers at the chemist earlier - cheap cosmetic variety, not the surgical ones I would have liked... better for pulling out splinters.

I didn't know people reused seals. I'm still waiting for some, could I reuse these without pulling them out... Or should I wait?

Always best to pull them out John and then you know they're seated correctly on the new pipe.

If you're careful with the tweezers they'll be easily reusable...

Yep, if they don't show any damage. You'll see screw threads moulded into them but that's OK. Also, you often find a very fine strand of rubber on them. remove that gently too before reuse...
