xantia estate brakes query
Hi. Can someone please advise if there is a difference between s1 and s2 xantia estate (1.9td) front brake pads? Have seen listings on ebay that appear to confirm that they are the same size but list them separately. Many thanks for any information.

There are 4 types of front brakes fitted to Xantias, and engine / body style combo does not necessarily always equate to the same brakes! You are best to confirm which are actually fitted to your car, and then purchase off that. If you post up the last 8 digits of the VIN, we can confirm via service.citroen what size are fitted. Probably

Last 8 digits of VIN as follows:- 017E0166
.
My main reason for asking is that there is a huge price difference for Xantia brake pads. I have a S1, but the lowest prices seem to be for S2 even though they appear to be the same size.

It has the 'middle' 283mm discs, as expected:
02
4246 V0
RP 4249 K4
2 FRONT DISKS KIT, VENTILATED
DIAM 283 EP 22
4251 57
RP 4252 92
BRAKE PAD KIT FRONT
AV
WITHOUT ASBESTOS - A005-
Same part nos are listed for MK2 cars with the same brakes.

Thanks Richard, most helpful. I can go ahead and buy S2 ones with confidence!
