What type of seal is it at the bottom of the filter housing?

Im not sure what it is either but I beleve it can... tons of filter houses up here. You be welcome to a couple of them to try if you like..

the filter housing has an O ring around the underside of the housing...

Well, I think the plan of attack is replace the seal under the filter housing and while it's off seal up that white bit. Then put it back together and see if the bubbles disappear.....

Decided to try blocking up that white bit first before removing the filter housing to replace the seal.

Two coats of silicone later and it's running again. Only been out in it once so far and it seemed to run better. Couldn't see any bubbles in the clear line anymore after the short run. This morning after the same run (it ran badly) there were lots of bubbles winging their way down the tube.

I'll update again after a few more miles of testing

Well so far so good. Been about 40 miles or so today and it's behaved itself so far.
