How to reset the trip computer on C5 2.2L HDI?

Post by fotobright »

Howdy,

The trip computer on my 2.2L HDI C5 reads the wrong mph, think it would be worth resetting it. How do I do this?

Thanks

Wrong mph? do you mean mpg? if so, there's a button on the end of the wiper stalk, keep it held for a few seconds, and it'll reset it.

It has a MPH after the MPG. Have pressed the stalk reset a few times but the MPH is still inaccurate?

You're talking about the average trip mph, right? If you reset the trip, shouldn't the mpg and mph both be set to 0 (if the car is stationary)? What do you mean by inaccurate?

The MPH figure on the trip computer is an average speed. From memory you get

MILES DONE SINCE LAST RESET
TANK RANGE TO EMPTY
ACTUAL MPG AT THE TIME
MPG AVERAGE SINCE LAST RESET
MPH AVERAGE SINCE RESET
WARNING MESSAGES

To reset all values, put onto any average setting and press and hold the black stem on the left of the instrument binnacle, (right hand stem controls dash brightness), the right hand control stalk button resets the trip mileage under the odometer total mileage.

I thought it was holding in the button on the end of the wiper stalk that resets the fuel computer. Maybe can be done both ways.
