Independent Citroen Specialists in the UK

Post by Dr Madvibe »

Is there a directory of independent Citroen specialists in the UK?
I'm looking for one in the Grantham area [Lincolnshire]. I did try to contact one in Bourne but he never answered the phone nor replied to my emails; so maybe he's gone out of business.
I need a service soon [well the Activa does, I'm OK except for a tooth - ouch!] and need to replace the suspension flushing fluid with proper stuff.

you could ty "Abczxm..." (or similar). That's John Hannan of Lincoln (Doddington Road area).
I drive my BX and Xantia from Stoke to get them 'fettled' here. I find them to be good value for money (much much better than the main agents). I think the numbers 01522 500333 - but check the phone book first.

There used to be a Citroen enthusiast in Grantham called Peter Howard - on Dale Road tel 01476 65976. I'm going back 5 or 6 years and don't know if he still operates but might be worth a try. He certainly knows (knew?) his stuff

Citman - yes I'd be interested in your 'stoke list' and any other comments you might have on these specialists. I used to live in Lincoln and have built up a good relationship with the guy over there - in short I trust him to do a good job and not rip me off whilst doing it. I might be prepared to try out the local lads though.

Thanks for the suggestions people, I have just discovered that the Bourne Citroen Centre is still in existance so I've booked in there.
www.bourne-citroen-centre.co.uk/ 01778-394 777
But I will check out your other options.
Incidently, if you are ever in need of a an independent in the Wallesey/Birkenhead area you could go to Ray Lasnier, Unit 14, Kelvin Road, Wallesey 0151-639 9680
It's bit nearer to Stoke than Lincoln anyway.

Re: Citroen specialists in Surrey - there's the Citroen Car Centre in Ash Vale nr Guildford, tel# is 01252 373716; they've always seemed to know their stuff. There's also a good little place in Crowthorne but that's a bit further afield.

I live in Surrey. I use Surrey Breakdown in Purley(opposite the BR station) because the mechanics all own Citroens and they know what they are doing and do it at a reasonable price. In addition, if you travel to London all you have to do is cross the road. There is an independent Citroen garage in Walton On The Hill near Tadworth. It is where I get my cars from but I do not use them to service as I find Surrey Breakdown the most competent and trustworthy citroen specialists around. They have been around for 25 years although the Council is trying to build flats on their site - something they are resisting and challenging.

There are two in Nottingham
Citron Clinic (0115) 923 2658
Bill Parker (0115) 928 0331
I've not used either of them as I prefer Lions to Chevrons.

I found Modern Citroen in Birmingham off the Bristol road South. 0121 624 6060 They're really good and the price's are not so shocking. I've has good service on all the occassions of using them. Plus you can get a courtsey car. Last time there the courtesy car booked for me had a broken heater so the manager let me have his own vehicle for the day.
