Re: Xantia spoiler

But that looks like an OEM to me, and near enough to what I am after, what's the difference between this and an OEM? It's much smaller and higher than the one I have sitting in the garage at the moment.

The spoiler you've bought looks exactly like the first spoiler offered by Citroen so may well be OEM, it was also available with a brake light built into the bottom of it, if you bought that version the light had to be bought separately even though the spoiler was already cut away ready for the light

The higher spoiler as seen on Activa's was later standard fitment on S2 SX models but was not fitted to V6 models, any V6 so equipped would have had it fitted later as an accessory.

Ok, now I'm confused :?
I have never seen this style of spoiler on a Xantia except in photos on the internet for sites selling them as new. I have also been told that no spoiler ever had a brake light.
So who is right and will I have to eat humble pie with the seller :?:

I have my bullet-proof vest on and the guard dogs are ready (soppy Lab and over-friendly WHFT  ) so accept that the gauntlet has been thrown to the ground in contest for someone to please prove who is right and who is wrong.

I am now taking cover behind the sofa

Take a look at the following link and on the next page, a bit fuzzy but should be clear enough to explain my previous post.

The link doesn't appear to work - (she says peeping out from behind the sofa)

OK, I agree that this is the same shape so therefore there are two designs of spoiler  Thank you for pointing this out DickieG :P

I would argue that the spoiler I have is much bigger than the one in the accessory brochure in the link, when resting on the rear screen rubber it hangs over the boot edge, the one in the picture in the brochure appears to be flush with edge of the boot. So I'm still holding out for a refund from the seller, distance selling regulations etc. 8-[

How much easier would a Ford Fiesta be :?: :?: :?:

Well the seller won't back down and I can't push the issue now I know there were two designs  . It's not worth returning due to the high cost of postage from France. So anyone want a big yellow boomerang going cheap for their Xantia ? :-D

If Northern_Mike and Citroenxm are trying to contact me by PM I haven't received anything - have sent both of them a PM regarding the spoiler but have had no response although both messages have been read apparently. Just don't want them to think I am ignoring them :)
