Xsara electric window failure

Post by smoker »

I had a cold drive home the other day after the elec window on my 02 110 hdi wouldn't go up. Just a horrible graunching noise and a couple of inches of movement following which it would just drop down again. Managed to force it closed in the end. Internet research suggests that the regulator has failed - a fairly common problem - although I haven't taken the door apart yet to check. Not really looking forward to tackling this - any suggestions from anyone who's done one?

Cheers

Never done one, but there is a write up on the Xsara owners forum here: http://www.cxoc.net/index.php?topic=5215.0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Great guide, thanks for pointing it out. Can't say it looks easy, especially as I don't have a rivetting kit, but can't survive without a moving window!

Replace the rivits with small nuts and bolts. Rivits are only used on initial assembly because they are quicker.
