Hydraulic pump hp pipe - fix?

Post by John Plum »

I had to cut the HP pipe (the one out of the large nut closest to belt) because it twisted upon removal for pump replacement. The pipe union was fused into the large nut, somehow.

So I lost about 3" of pipe and the union. I have a spare large nut with replacement pump.

What's the quick and economical way to replace this HP pipe going to the regulator? Should I order a Citroen one, or have one made up, or just make my own up. I have no flare tools, but could buy one.
What sort of pipe should I be looking for if I make one up?

Hydraulic pump hp pipe - fix?

Pliades cant make one up on later xantias, due to the flare on the regulator end, which had changed.
One suggestion is to slide a close fitting pipe over two ends to braze a join ( the pipe is 6mm mild steel).

Perhaps someone has a spare pipe anyway?

I've seen what could possibly be the right piece on eBay with part no 5270fs.
I can't check part numbers on mobile net. If any one feels up to it I'd appreciate a check for right part number.
It's for vin number VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Cheers John

Cut a tail, fix it by brazing a sleeve over the two sections.

I would do that Addo, love to.
Got only propane and torch with me, no braze, no oxygen, no bits of sleeve and pipe for tail. :-( By the time I walk the many miles here in N Wales, to round up bits, I might as well pay the £38 required for a s/h one I just confirmed as matching part no. Which is what I did. Should be here by Wednesday. :-)
Thanks, to all.
