If that picture is the worst of the rust, they might well skim clean leaving enough thickness to have a useful life. The BoL will tell you what the maximum wear (per face) should be - I say you'd want to take off no more than 50% of that. No need to skim the outer face IMHO.

Get some brake cleaner and some ultra fine sandpaper on them but spin the disc on the sandpaper and not the other way round to keep the wear even across the surface.

The garage or metal shop skimming is the ideal option as above as it makes the surface on each side perfectly matched and helps keep them balanced. its been covered on wheeler dealers before IIRC.

Don't know about garages, but any decent machine shop will skim a few thou off for a few quid.

I would take that rust off with a very sharp scraping blade in a holder.
The remainder should come off with some heavy braking .

You could fit a set of carborundum brake pads for a few miles.........available at good car parts stores :shock: :lol:

V6 discs are also used on hdi 110 models too!!
