citroen c5 mk3 tourer

Post by m300td »

Hi
I am trying to find a problem with my c5 mk3 2 litre hdi
It started with sometimes
Idleing rough for a few seconds then returning to normal idleing with a slight drop in revs
This has now turned into if you accelerate hard the engine has a rattle like a bad diesel knock and brings the enging managemet light on I have read the codes with lexia and is just bringing one code up p0094
Fuel flow regulator open to much
Have done the actuator test and and it seems normal
Could anyone help me with this as it is driving me nuts!!
Many thanks
Malc

If its knocking but otherwise OK I would strongly suspect a leaking injector. You can get a set for very little money on ebay - assuming its an 8 valve engine.

No way mk3 is 8v. I just bought one new Delphi injector for mk3, it was around 250€ including shipping.

Btw, torque with cheap bluetooth adapter shows injector faults.

Google seems to suggest the fault code is 'small fuel leak' - which ties in the flow regulation open too much - ie, it is struggling to maintain the pressure in the rail, so it assumes it is leaking somewhere. I would change the fuel filter first off, and see if that improves things. After that, check the fuel pressure using Lexia - watch for difference between the requested and acheivevd fuel pressure. It could be a pump or regulator fault, but filters are cheaper and easier!!

Don't know if the HP pumps are the same as the 8 valve but I have had problems with a couple of those due to the regulator filter being blocked. They don't all have filters and are almost impossible to clean anyway but if you grind the end off they seem to work fine.
