What type of lexia reader do I need

Post by shogun »

Hi, this has probably been asked hundreds of times before so apologies if it has.

I have a c5 estate 2ltr diesel 2002 sx model RHZ type engine.

So, I am wondering am I right in saying that EOBD only came out after 2004, if so, I would need a lexia type of scanner for my car and I assume it will be the Lexia 3 supplied with Diagbox v.7.42 and PP2000 which I intend to buy on EBay item number 221439991639

Thanks for help

Quite correct.

However it is worth noting that a Lexia will still give you better information than a generic fault code reader - even for post-2004 vehicles. Most cheap fault code readers will give you just that - the fault code. Lexia and Diagbox literally spell it out for you and have a bunch of other useful functions that fault code readers won't be able to do since it's the same tool used by Citroen dealerships.

Another thing to remember is that since Diagbox is a cracked version of PSA's own software (unavailable to the general public) DO NOT PAY for this software - it's available for free on the internet (there are links to it on FCF). That eBay item you refer to is fine however, I think that's about how much I paid for mine.
