Air Compressor Interchangeable

Post by Way Way »

Hello Everyone Hoping that someone will be able to help me
I own a 2002 Citron C5 2.0 Hdi, and some noise has started coming from the air compressor unit (A/C) and so I’ve started look for a replacement for it. In doing a little bit of research I’ve found the Citroen installed 2 different units to their C5 at this time a Sanden unit and a Delphi unit, externally there is a slight difference in them (a different size timing belt is needed, so could be pulley size or location?). But I was wondering if there are any other differences that anyone knows of (e.g. Mount locations, mesh/gearing sizes, etc) Or another reason that the 2 units wouldn’t be interchangeable.

Many thanks in advanced

Does the timing belt drive the compressor pulley?? Not heard that one on a C5

If you have the vin number, some of the guys on here will be able to get you some info on the compressor probably. They will be along soon.

hi and welcome

i think you mean aux drive belt not timing belt,

if you send me the last 8 digits of your chassis/VIN No. i will get you both different belt size's/lengths,

and which pump goes with which belt,

them im fairly sure it would not make any other difference to which pump you get
