Nor me, nor why that's a bad thing! But then, I speak as someone who generally doesn't like cars designed after about 1990, so probably not to be trusted on matters of dated-ness..

Mind you, I'm driving.g the XantiaV more than the C6, but it's more of a thrill when I do..... :-D

KP wrote:IMO the best one to get is the 3.0HDi as its the twin turbo varient and well worth it. After that a V6 C6 petrol with or without LPG conversion. The loss in torque would be made up for in extra reduction in engine noise and the extra rarity of it as they are really rare!
The 2.7 HDi in the C6 is also a twin turbo unit.

To find a 3.0 HDi in a C6, if you can find one... You'd need to be prepared to part with a sum in the region of £20k... No, I'm not joking - the last one on AutoTrader, some time late last year was priced at £25k IIRC.

David,

You can add a bit more than that, I've been advised the last one sold by Citroën UK went for in excess of £25,000

Some petrol V6's on there, I suppose they would be classed as grey imports would they? Not bad prices too.

why is the tax so much compared to the C5 & Jags, are they not the same engine?

The 3.0 Petrol Jaguars use a Ford derived engine. The Diesel 2.7/3.0 XJ uses the same engine, though as far as I remember the tax is more or less the same as the equivalent C6. You have to compare like for like though. Cars registered before about 2006 had lower tax because the government changed the tax bands, so a 2003 Jaguar will have lower tax than a 2007 C6 and vice versa.

I suspect the C6 is a heavier car than the C5, so therefore has a higher fuel consumption.

One thing that disappointed me with the C6 was the steering wheel, that does look dated/cheap. The rest of the interior just cries out for something like the C4 fixed centre steering wheel.
