Hi im trying to get a spare key esp without being held over a barrel and frisked with a wire brush well you know what i mean as had prices going from stupid to well this is a family website.
what or how is the best way to go about it mines the key that is sort of offset towards top where it goes to a key ring loop.
for a spare im not that worried about remote as one with it don't work anyway as needs a refit with micro switch long vanished inside it.
found a few blanks etc on flea bay some for newer model or saloon i guess 3-4 buttons.
Is the immobiliser chip the same on them as see frequency but that's just for lock/unlock side?
Or what i could do is get a key cut then get someone to programme?

You will need to get it cut, then introduced (via a Lexia) to the car. You might need to do all the keys at the same time, and you will need the security card (to allow access to the key programming part of the menus).
Is this the right key for your car?;

Hi no thats for either saloon or newer ones mines 2 button one that tapers to one side with key loop on corner. but if that one would work id be happy with it?

You could sacrifice one of your working keys, just cut the blade off it and glue the chip part to the side of the ignition barrel behind the column cover. Then you just need to get any key cutting place to cut you a key, non chipped keys will now start the car providing they cut to fit the mechanical lock.

Hi well just got 2 virgin keys with transponder chips separate!!! non remote types for £26.
Citroen said £10 to get code from France/HQ just need driving licence/V5c and as ive just green slip MOT etc fax off and back in 10 mins. they charge £64.50 to programme the whole key so i guess central locking also.

That's about the right price for the security code. However, if you look on the following link I feel sure you should find somebody near you with a Lexia who could sort your keys out for a better deal;
http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/v ... 19&t=29178" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The central locking bit is done with remote keys (so is not relevant in your case). What the programming bit is for is to introduce all the keys (old AND new) to the immobiliser circuits on the car, so that it is prepared to accept them. Any key that is not done will be ignored, hence all keys need to be done.
