Solid flywheel citroen c5 138

Post by Josh-c5-138 »

Has anyone fitted a flywheel conversion to an RHR citroen c5 hdi

My flywheel has gone all of a sudden and ideally I would like to fit a solid one. However I've heard that the 6 speed gearbox has to have a dual mass and also the crank snapping because of no damping on the clutch

Anyway just wanted to know if these were true fact or speculation as I know people have done the conversion with the peugeot 307

Cheers josh

I put a new DMF in my 2.2Hdi recently, the old one lasted 110k before failing. I investigated a solid conversion but found it to be approx £60-70 more than the dual mass version. I've seen Mondeo 2.0 TDci's that have had a solid conversion come in with sheered driveshaft splines as a result of the un-damped power take up. I figured if the original was good for 110k then i'd go the dual mass route again.

Mines just on 66k now I've had it from 58k. I've never had to replace a clutch apart from in my saab 9000 aero and that was my fault for running a stage 4 map lol

I have fitted a couple,(at owners request)
Always found them to be considerably less smooth, I will not fit them anymore, as the DMF kit is usually less money as said previously.
