Cabin heater question
Hi folks. I have a electronic thermometer plugged into the centre vent. It was to monitor the air con temp but I have noticed a peculiarity. With the lever set to cold or 18degrees makes no difference to the temp according to the thermometer, stays at 7degrees with the air con on. However there is a huge difference between 26 and hot. Temp goes from 36 to more than 60. Had to turn it off cos it was too hot! Does it have a sensor in it? Is it a fault or am I being silly?

Re: Cabin heater question
The heater matrix runs at the coolant temperature so 60+ while the A/C can only reduce the temperature by so much
The problem my wife has is that if the temperature is below the minimum, Cassy seems to open the heater vent fully and blast us with a furnace which makes my wife feel ill.

Hmm think on full I'd pass out! Never have quite got the blower fan, seems to go whoosh dribble, whoosh dribble. Tend to leave the fan on low and adjust the temp to suit. Suppose when she was new it all worked a little smoother!

Re: Cabin heater question
If you turn the heating up full it usually overrides the thermostatic control and gives you max coolant temperature air.

Re: Cabin heater question
Temperature control not just a lever for hot/ cold then! Got some electrickery in there.
Only goes whoosh dribble on automatic. With the fan on manual it behaves. Must be a couple of years for the filter though, checked it 6 months ago, surprising clean in there as the engine air filter gets very very dusty.
