CitroenDocbackup headache

Post by Bandit12 »

I'm having problems getting my Citroendocbackup to open. After the usual few minutes of it loading it then comes up with this error message

"this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or if one exists create an association"

Seadrebackup works fine.

Any ideas?

Once the icon is loaded and that error has come up, are you able to get to http://127.0.0.1:6091/docbackup" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; in Internet Explorer?

bit dull today, after a mad rush of snow last weekend!! hmmm, can you take a screenshot of what you see?
EIther use just the Print Screen key for screenshotting the whole desktop or, press Alt+Print Screen to do the currently active window. Then go to http://www.imgur.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, and press CTRL+V to paste it there, it'll give you a url to post up on the forum or you can email it or PM it to me if you like.

Hi Ben

Tried your advice but neither the print screen button or the ALT+print screen did anything at all. Tried right clinking on the mouse but no good. Error message pops up in the centre of the screen in a white box with red border. I've been having a few other isues with my pc and wonder if they are related. If I clink on a webpage link from an email in outlook the computer brings up an error message telling me it cannot perform task and gives me 2 options of either going online to find a program to open the link or use an existing program. I clink on to use an existing program and then clinck on the internet explorer icon and it all works. Very peculiar?? I'm wondering if the same issue is affecting Citroendocbackup because it is unable to connect to the internet to start up.

What do you think?

Pressing the print screen key won't do anything visible - it just stuffs the image into the clipboard. So you need to paste it somewhere to see if it worked or not. Try opening paint and see if you can paste it in there...

Thanks for that Mandrake I'm a self confessed luddite with computers
I am however feeling very smug-I've fixed it! woohoo! turns out the issues with not loading webpages from email links and Citroendocbackup were connected. I restored whole computer to a point about 3 weeks ago before it started playing up and bingo! works like a charm :-D
It appears the likely cause was an automatic update from Windows but I'm not completely certain. I'm now doing a full backup/restore point just in case it happens again. I've now been able to print off the necessary diagrams and part numbers to do the rear trailing arm bearings. My local Dealer wanted £350 per side just for the parts  FLeabay however list them much cheaper :-D

Many thanks for all the tips tho guys :)
