Picked up the 307 (1.6 HDi 110 SW ) this morning, so now one set of Chevrons, and one Lion in the drive. It's only basic 'S' spec, but it's got cruise and heated mirrors, the things I missed on the Xantia, although only manual heating not climate control
30 mile drive home, and it feels as tight as it did on a short test drive, despite 80k under its wheels - handling is very nice and direct. It is a bit bouncy compared to a Xantia though!! Need to do some work on the seat position, not got it right yet, but otherwise pretty pleased with it.
Should save some money over the Xantia - insurance went down £30 (first time I have paid <£200 I think); tax is only £125 compared to £225 for the Xantia, and it averaged 55mpg on the run home (similar to my run to work) compared to 45 in the Xantia. Tyres look like they might be a bit more expensive though - 205/55 16 Vs
First jobs, get it on Diagbox and see what it says about the DPF etc, and then get the filter out of the turbo feed pipe!
