Xantia Disc wear

Hi, my S1 Xantia, just removed the front discs !!! The caliper side of both front discs ( inside) I have a 20 m/m strip ( groove) running around both discs ! the pads mirrors this . the outside of the disc is fine , no uneven wear and the outside pads are fine. anyone know why the pads and discs would have wear around both discs ! cheers Terry.

I don't quite follow what you say about the inner face of each front disc. Are you saying that there's a 20mm wide groove worn into the inner face of each disc? This might suggest wrong pads fitted in the past? How much of the inner face(s) are bright metal?

I've noticed on my S1 over the years that whilst the swept area of the outer disc face remains nice and bright, on the inner face there's a slow creep of rust/corrosion both from the outer periphery inwards, and from the inner part of the swept area outwards (if you get what I mean )

It was seized caliper slider, cleaned up , copper greased new seals, many thanks Malcom.
