Thank you both, i will clean the runners and switch as its only the passenger side window thats doing it.
Ah well could be cable, i thought it was fbw throttle as per almost every modern (ish) diesel ive seen so didnt bother looking, i will check.

It is FBW. The cable operates a potentiometer that the indirectly operates a stepper motor.
My cable was also slack on this C5, among other things it caused very disappointing performance.
Adjusting that made a tremendous improvement.
