Re: Outside temperature sensor
On my company van (Pug Partner, 13 reg) it is a little dome on the underside of the driver mirror.

Re: Outside temperature sensor
It's the same on most of the Citroen range, a quick and "cheeky" test is to hold your finger on the "nipple" to see if it registers a changeHell Razor5543 wrote:On my company van (Pug Partner, 13 reg) it is a little dome on the underside of the driver mirror.

Re: Outside temperature sensor
Post up / PM the last 8 digits of the VIN and I'll check in service.citroen - if fitted it does show it in the Driver's mirror. What fault are you chasing?

Re: Outside temperature sensor
Definitely shows it associated with the drivers mirror. Not exactly clear where it is though, the sensor is just shown free, I wonder if it might be in the fixed part of the housing on the door? Found this on another forum...
Haven't been on here for a while. I did end up changing this and all was OK. Quite a simple job. Carefully lever out the panel on the underside of the mirror containing the sensor [it clips back in afterwards]. Cut the wires off the old sensor. I cut as close to the old sensor as possible as the wires were not very long and I didn't want to make hard work of crimping in the new sensor. Strip the wires back [two on you new sensor and two no the existing wiring] and splice together using two in line splices and a crimp tool [or pliers if you don't have a crimp tool Icon_smile ]
Coil up and excess wire and clip the temp sensor into the plastic base plate you removed at the beginning. Then refit baseplate on underside of mirror. Only slight problem is they have slightly modified the temp sensor shape at the front end and you have to either cut it or file it down at the front end to get the temp sensor to clip in correctly into the base-plate.

Re: Outside temperature sensor
For anybody who needs to know, the external temperature sensor on a Series 2 Xantia is on the nearside wing mirror, on the mount itself (the part that doesn't move). It also appears to have a small, removable cover which suggests the sensor may be replaceable without the need to dismount the wing mirror itself (but I cannot confirm this).

Re: Outside temperature sensor
Ah! That explains why after swapping my nearside mirror unit over with one from my old Xantia, the new Xantia took on the atmospheric temperature fault of the old one
