Thanks, but having reactivated it with a new key the first page displayed in my browser is in French telling me to access the terminal from another pc and gives a URL for the pc I'm using. When I installed it first it was in stand alone mode, all the links and options on this page are greyed out so I cant navigate anywhere from it. This is for DocBackup, SEDRE is fine.
It infuriates me to be wrong when I know I'm right

Sparksie, when you come to install the disks you might find the keygen system doesn't work. It needs the Java Runtime Environment system for it to work. You would need to connect the PC to the Internet (or somehow download the relevant files) to get this working. Java is a free download. I have just had to do this on my PC, as I have just upgraded the hard drives and re-installed everything.

Once you start the main installation (assuming you have already installed Java), follow the instructions in the 'Instructions' PDF file. Do not (in the keygen program) change the country code, as it will not generate the right unlock code.

As disk 3 takes a very long time to install, I would be inclined to start the installation mid-afternoon, so that (with luck) it will be ready for disk 3 at about the same time as you shut up shop. This should then mean the software is ready to go the following morning.

Thanks James
Useful to know, but before I even get that far I have to remember to bring them in to work
I think Java came pre-installed on all my machines, but it will be a very old version.
Hopefully it'll still work, because I don't want to bring the bl**dy thing home so I can connect to the net!
I suppose I could bring in an ethernet lead and use the laptop's mobile narrow-band and firewall, but maybe it won't come to that :)

If you follow the instructions in that file they should work IF your PC has Java installed on it. If not, the Java installation files in the 'keygen' folder may work. It didn't on my PC, which is why I had to download the Java update.

I am currently re-installing the programs on my PC. When the system asked about disk 3, it informed me that it could take 300 minutes to install. That was about 15:30. It is now 17:35 and disk 3 is still copying files (it is over 50% of the way through).

Well, after 3.5 hours on disk 3 the installation has completed.

Hmm
Paralell universe seems to be stealing some of my drivel.
I replied to your earlier post, but the reply hasn't appeared.
In any case, well done. Thankfully the 5 hour estimate was pessimistic.
I'm somewhat hopeful mine will be quicker, because I have a very clean OS, with no background software running and taking up processor time. Given lack of internet access, there's not even any kind of anti virus, no cookies, nothing!
So the CPU will have nothing to do except transfer files and tell me what it's doing!
Maybe a job for whenever I'm doing the remaining bushes and the exhaust. That way I won't be leaving an unknnown PSU running when the place is empty.
The consequences of a fire don't bear thinking about...

It depends on the system. Yes, I have just completed a system re-build, replacing the primary hard drive with a solid state drive. I have fully updated Windows, running MSE for security (my cousin Bob, who is a very competent programmer, uses it and has found it to be reliable and non-intrusive, other than when required). According to Windows 7 my PC scores 7.3 on the Windows benchmark (which goes up to 7.9). It is a quad core i5 processor, with 32GB ram and a SATA 3 256GB solid state drive, so it ain't a slouch. I also use it for playing games, and (as far as I can tell) it meets the needs of all current games.

Yeah. Mine's none of the above.
Definitely a Core 2 Duo, probably 32bit and running Vista Business. No idea what HDD I have, but I remember it was considered "more than adequate" for the intended purpose at the time. I had ambitions back then and wanted to build in a bit of longevity.
Nowadays I've pulled in my horns a lot and my main ambition today is to maintain the status quo!
I'll expect my machine to struggle, so and it'll be a nice surprise if it works.

It will take it, but it will also take longer to install.
