Strut top availability

Post by graham1701d »

Hi,
As we are all aware strut tops are no longer available from Citroen. Or are they? On service Citroen it lists the later ones, 5271FO left, 5271F1 right, as no longer available. From RPO 08057. However strut tops up to RPO8056 5271E2 left and 5271E5 right are still listed as available. Will the earleir ones fit later cars? Can anyone give more details? Thanks.

However looking at the right part of Service Citroen. I was looking at Hydractive before. 5271e1 and 5271e4 which are shown for the latest RPO number onwards are still showing as available. Do these fit all cars? Thanks.

it depends on the susp system/type you have on your car to what will or wont fit

did you enter the last 8 digits of you chassis/VIN No. into the VIN box on service citroen,

as that will show you the correct tops for your car

No I just looked in Xantia II and found it manually. I don't need any for my car I was just curious as to availability. I just assumed seeing as my car is a February 2001 it would have the highest RP number. People have also wrote elsewhere that all Non-Hydractive cars have the same strut tops. Thanks.

I have found that 5271 e1 and 5271 e4 are the correct strut tops for my car. Still available at £166 each

A member on here found that there was a a small run of different pipe connection on the NON Hydractive Cars from 1999 to 2000 and then at the end they reverted back to the Citroen Normal Flare..

Trumpet Flare, nylon washer, and the larger spacer! These were from a V reg LX. These were fitted from around V reg to X reg cars only!!

NEVER seen them before, and I think IF I owned a car with this setup, Id sooner change the rear struts to the standard ones and swap the front tops when the time came.

This style is NOT fitted to T Reg models..
