Hi, we have a 2004 2.0 hdi c8. The airbag light came on last year, did the usual checks on the joints under the seat but they were fine. Ended up taking it to a auto electrician who made a load of mess by cutting the carpets around the seats but still had to take the seats out to check wiring. Then said it was a dry joint in the comms unit which he fixed and then took £250 offus. The car passed its mot the next day and the day after the light came back on. Spoke to him and he said it must need a new unit. Is there anyway of reseting the comms unit as I don't believe he has had it to bits. Thanks for your help
Davey

Re: C8 airbag light
These units are very common for failing and causing various faults, a new one from memory costs about £200+vat from the dealer.
Quite easy to change and a garage should not charge much to fit.
Be careful getting one second hand, you need to get one the same for your model with the same features (auto lights, cruise, auto wipers, fuel comp) and you can not be sure how long it will last.

Re: C8 airbag light
Apart from disconnecting the battery for a bit there is no way I know of resetting.

Re: C8 airbag light
There's a chap in Bradford who repairs them and has a good rep on the Berlingo forum. I'll root his details out for you.

Just a quick update, or 56000 mile 2004 hdi has just chucked the timing after the tensioner pulley collapsed. Think abs light is now least of our worries
