Yes, as did the 18. To be fair, the 18 was quite a competent car. They used to break gearbox input shafts. Apart from that they gave little trouble.BX wrote: At least the 12 had the engine the right way round.
Nobody would ever pay to have the gearbox fixed, so I never found out why it happened.
They were a good engine donor for Volvo 340s.
Very little modification required and you could get a whole 18 for less than the price of an engine. Crazy times we lived through, had we but known it.
