Hi guys,
Picked up a pair of rear belts from the local yard earlier, (not allowed in the yard type, just the office!) came from a hatchback, (french lefty mk1)
Now, they seem to work in an upright angle as against the estates angled forwards, thus, they wont work in the car, wont release at all when fixed in, and Also lazy too,
Are the mounting angles different between hatchbacks and estates?? Or different between mk1 and mk2??
Many thanks in advance guys,
Timmo.

Scrap above, got it working by swapping over the ball cage/arm from one to the other, But! The new belt when mounted ip is as Lazy as the old belt! Seems as soon as its bolted in with the top guide it stops working!

Check there's no dirt/black deposits on the top guide itself where the belt runs through. A tip I picked up on the Forum is to spray some dry lube on the guide, and on the belt itself (assuming it's clean). I used dry silicon spray, originally for the house curtain rails, and it sorted a sluggish belt problem.
