I was hoping it would go away once the new disks and pads settle. I am certain they do not have any Citroen specific diagnostic equipment and it is an hour drive. Would be easier if I went to them with a better idea of what the problem is. If it is a fuse I wont bother driving there.
Now that I think about it, they had ordered the wrong battery initially (poles were the other way around) and they realized it only after trying to connect it and getting lots of sparks!

In that case, I wouldn't trust them an inch. Probably worth informing them of the problem and see what they say. Can't believe a garage would fit the wrong battery, then connect the + and - the wrong way?
Who was fitting it, a first year apprentice or the receptionist?
Rick.

I'm not sure how many times I can say this, or more clearly, but

LEXIA!!!

Anything else is pure speculation, and just likely to frustrate

Sticky, nothing the last two days but do you think there might be a log of these faults? Will try and do my best to make them reappear ;-)

HI
They will be logged on the system, when they go off they log the fault, depending on the fault it either clears itself after a few good restarts or it has to be fixed then cleared via Lexia before it is removed from the screen.

If it is working OK now maybe the pads needed bedding in a bit to get it to grip with the required torque...I take it the disks were cleaned of their protective coating before they fitted them ?

The disks were sprayed with something before they were fitted. Interestingly the local Citroen dealer told me that the electronic handbrake works at the rear wheels!

No expert on these in any way, for example I always thought the "Anti Roll back" was a gearbox device....................

A quick spray ....OK, but weak cheap brake cleaner does not take of the wax coating without a good scrub...I always scotch pad and spray.....but as said I am no mechanical genius :)

Given there's a slew of faults relating to loss of speed to various ECUs, I would suspect the underbonnet fuse box. The brake pedal fault is there, but it looks related to the comms via the fuse box to me. Post up the VIN, and I'll get a part no for the box.

That is a lengthy report indeed ;-)

VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Still can't understand why I am not able to reproduce the fault.

It's a networking glitch (the fuse box also acts as a CAN hub) - possibly due to a dry joint on the board somewhere. Ours (see http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/v ... lit=6500FG" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) tends to come on if you go through a pothole with the LHF wheel, or if you start with nose parked uphill. Or just when it feels like it! Yours originally fitted with the expensive board (6500FQ), but a replacement part no (beginning 96) is listed which is (much) cheaper, and is used in all later cars (except DT20C diesel, what ever that is!):

Part Number Description Quantity Price excl. VAT Price incl. VAT Total incl. VAT Selection
00006500FQ FUSE BOX 124.25 GBP 149.10 GBP 149.10 GBP

9675877980 FUSE BOX 53.95 GBP 64.74 GBP 64.74 GBP

The brake light switch is the same as the one I replaced on our C4, and comes with the replacement piece of harness:

0000453467 SWITCH KIT 25.50 GBP 30.60 GBP 30.60 GBP

AFAIK no programming is necssary. I've got a used unit to fit to ours, but have so far bottled it....
