Classic XM

Post by Fake Concern »

I expect others have already seen this article in the Torygraph motoring section, it dates from September, but I only found it yesterday when visiting my mother! It suggests that the XM is among the cars that will shortly start to rise in value & be considered "classic". I would love to have one, but I already have my daughters Clio on SORN on the drive & we have 3 other cars, 2 of which usually stay on the road.

If you've never tried an Xm then try one. They are life changing. Especially the V6 or 2.5td. Do a Driving Miss Daisy up to the lights then blow the blinged up Corsas into the weeds. It's hilarious.

Bx 1.6 TGS Auto 50k A rare beast by all accounts. A bit tired but getting better by the day. Gone.
'96 XM 2.5TD VSX.......Sadly sold. What an idiot! I should have held on to that.

I had 2 x 2.1 TDs and TCT Auto Estate. I loved them. Only sold the estate because it was way too big for the missus to drive.

I ran 2.1 estates for over 15 years, I used them for my work as a TV engineer, they had more carrying capacity than the average van plus superb comfort and ride and from the 2.1 manual 50+ mpg on a long journey driven gently. I use a C5 estate now, OK but the Hdi engine is not as refined as the 2.1, that would pull smoothly from tickover.
