2002 C5 2.2HDi NO POWER

My dads C5 has developed a problem in the last week, we were visiting him when he says it has no power, it will drive but it is very slow, checked with my Lexia (always take it when we go there as he lives in France) and the only fault showing is upstream cat temp sensor open or closed circuit, (it has been saying that since it was De FAPPED and was fine before) no EML or messages.
Its has the normal radio and instrument faults but none on the gearbox, BSI or braking systems.
Looked at the real time data and the MAF is showing 250 whatsits when at idle and rises to 400 whatsits when being revved, Boost pressure is around the expected figures and it will rev over 3000rpm so no limp mode either, I suspect the MAF is at fault, does anyone agree or have any other suggestions?

The only other thing I noticed was that the throttle switches did not respond the it was pressed but cannot remember if they did that before.

I did a service on it whilst I was there so no problems with the fuel filter etc.

Not sure what you mean by this but presume it is the cruise control buttons.

Have you checked the throttle cable? Mine was a bit loose and tightening it up made a world of difference.
My first guess would have been the MAF but you appear to have eliminated that.

Not checked the throttle cable but it just suddenly lost power so unless it slipped I don't think it could be that, the throttle switches are the ones listed in the Driving Parameters under real time data in Lexia, there are 2 listed and neither change when pressing the pedal.

Not sure about the MAF, it is going to be replaced but I have to buy it over here and post it to him in France, the local motor parts stores wanted 193 euro's for one and the Citroen dealer doesn't do PARTS!!!!!!!

Every now and again he says that the EML would come on (before the loss of power) along with the esp/asr and service lights but would go out on the next start, as I said before the only stored fault was the cat temp sensor and nothing else but that has been there since it was De Fapped and it was fine before.

Does anyone know what the MAF readings should be at Idle and when revving????

Well I got a new MAF and posted it to him, it arrived today and he fitted (with a few phone calls whilst he was doing it) and the power is back so problem solved..
