Citroen C5 Heater Problems

Post by moonscape »

Hi Everyone

I have just bought a Citroen C5 2.0 HDI VTR with a heater problem.

The issue is that the front air vents and windscreen vents will only blow cold air no matter what the temp is set to. The passenger side is slightly warmer but still cold. Any help would be greatly appreciated as its very cold when driving!!

I do have a replacement main control for the facia but i doubt it is this after reading other posts

Thanks

What model C5 are we talking about, MK1, Mk1 facelift or X7 (latest gen). If MK1 do you have standard air con or climate control (VTR has both)

your C5 sounds exactly the same fault as my daughters Synergie sorted,

with that the drivers side went cold then a few months later the passengers side went virtually cold, just a slight hint of warm air on that side,

turned out to be a flap motor had died we had it switched over for the recirculation flap motor,
but mind you fix the recirc flap so its taking air in from outside, so not left on recirc,

were are you located

It is either flap motor is dead as citronut says or the axis of the flap(s) is/are broken.

They are made of hard plastic but unfortunately they tend to break. There are lots of similar cases of both C5 II and Peugeot 407 with dual zone climate controls.

I made a Google search with words "Peugeot 407 flaps" and here is one of the example links with good pics:

Mine has dual zone climate control and I know what to look for if one side starts freezing
