2007 xsara picasso 1.6 hdi help please

Post by chrisf1 »

Hi everyone I am a new member and have a problem with my wife's 2007 xsara Picasso 1.6 hdi. 2 days ago I power washed the engine and since then it has refused to start. I have disconnected, blown out with air and reconnected all the obvious connectors I can see the maf and 2 more in the same vicinity and the bloody thing will not start can anyone give me any advice on this as obviously being without a car is problem enough but when living in a remote village it becomes even more so. The engine does turn over but it is making no attempt to start and before it was always a good starter is there a cut off solenoid or something like it I could have blown off and not seen and if so where is it many thanks Chris

Most likely you will have got water into the ECU plugs, this is situated to the right of the engine compartment as you look under the bonnet. They are normally covered with a black plastic bag type affair (looks like a shower cap).
Pull this off and remove the ECU connectors and check for water in there.
