I've been happy with these and was very happy with the fitting system (local Tyre Center) but NOTE:...I carry big loads in my C5's so Grip and Load Rating is important for me.

With 400/600 kg behind my head I would like to slow down in a controlled way :)

I had good experience with Falken Ziex 912 on my SAAB 9-5 so fitted a pair to my C5 just after I got it (around 23k miles, original Michelins shot). Similar front heavy cruiser. They did well, better than Michelins in the cold damp weather and certainly no noisier. Lasted similar, another 23k and 4k miles ago fitted a pair of Falken Ziex 914s. They are the replacement for the 912s. Seem a lot quieter, better in the wet, sharper turn in but still a comfort option. Maybe won't last quite as long but still very happy with them. Fuel consumption might be marginally better but you never can tell because there are so many other variables.

Also on the SAAB, which I had for ages, I had good experience with Firestones. TZ something, not their performance range. 200 series perhaps? Round, black, reliable, unspectacular mid price tyre. I reckon the Falken 914s are better but its all subjective. The fact that I rarely think about them suggests that they do their job. Falken are a serious company so their quality control must be OK. Its not like wrapping your wheels in re-tread blu tac at £50 a corner.

Its always difficult, you replace a pair of worn tyres with brand new ones and the new ones are almost bound to feel better and by the time they are part worn you can't recall what the old ones felt like ....so it goes.

Looks interesting, considering a new set of tyres for winter and my daughter is due a set for her C3.
