I bought a Lexia

Post by Bandit12 »

Hi Guys I've just bought a new Lexia and a mate of mine is giving me an old laptop with XP on it. My question is tha the lexia comes with 2 discs and lots of leads but no instructions. Any tips on which disc to insert first and setting up are gratefully appreciated.

You'll probably find that one disc is Lexia the other is Peugeot Planet. the leads are pretty simple things and should be straight forward.

Also, make sure you have the lead hub plugged into the USB while turning on the laptop. Otherwise they never seem to see the leads.

Can't say I've ever had that problem. It does have to be plugged into the USB port before launching Diagbox however.

When I got my Lexia from Easy Diagnostics it came with 2 discs. The first one was the main installation disc, while the second had a load of updates.

Any modern Lexia should come with Diagbox and at least version 6, if not you've been sold a pup! If there are additional disks with old versions of Lexia/PP2000/Proxia, just ignore those, Diagbox will do everything and includes a copy of Lexia and PP2000 for older cars that need it - no need to run any installation other than Diagbox.

Many thanks for all the tips and yes one disc is full of updates. I've downloaded diagbox but its asking for an activation code but I have not been given any codes! Are the codes hidden on the discs somewhere?

Hi jgra

thanks for all the tips. I've loaded on version 7.01 but instead of activating it keeps saying "Error during installation of Lexia. you have to reactivate to restart the installation. I've been in contact with the seller (some guy in Lincoln, his link was recommended here) and despite advice from him it still not working. Any ideas guys?

Thanks jgra that actually makes me feel better cos I thought it was just me being a luddite :-) At least I'm not alone!
It did not help having so many versions of the program on 2 discs with no setup advice. Didn't even know I needed WinRAR till I put the discs in. This is an old laptop with everything wiped and XP with service pack 3 re installed. Is it worth sending mandrake a PM?

Just been reading threads on similar issues with diagbox and have to say I'm a tad confused now. All the smart advice seems to be to not go past 6.4 ish. The vendor told me off for installing 6.1 and said I needed to go straight to 7.1 then update to 7.2??

Can anyone tell me which of the many programs on these discs is the right one for my 2002 2.2hdi and Ill start from there :-)

my problems were to do with not making a proper disc image and (I think) using WinRAR! but this is a touch foreign to me.. even a month on ..

I will try to find my lexia post..
