Xantia II - Replacing broken power window regulator

Post by lancia58 »

I replaced a broken power window regulator( front window ) . The still wires were OK. When I put all together ( with the new regulator ) it looks like the wires are a bit lose and when lowering the window the wire slips out of the top poly. I tried to figure it out since before the regulator broke with the same wires it was OK and now the wires a bit lose. Nay one did it before and can advise ?

P.S. I got a new repair kit and have the same problem of lose still wires, I guess I do something wrong?

Thanks
Zohar

The tensioner on the bottom should be nearly fully compressed if you have the cable run properly worked out. I've some photographs about somewhere if you think that they will help. The cable drum should have all of its grooves full of cable.

Post back if you want the photos.

Hi

Please post the pictures. When installed the wires the tensioner was half compressed. I guess it is related to the still wires length, but as the kit is new the wires are new. The thing is that before the regulator broke with the same wires it was OK and after replacing to the very same regulator it looks like the wires are lose

Thanks
