advice re new c5 AND 1.6 hdi C4

Post by boristhespie »

So my 06 eclusive 2ltr hdi says low tyre pressure. I assume this is a faulty sensor. Thing is how do your know which one? Not got to grips with the consol yet.

Likewise how can I check the parking sensors which aint working?

Also C4 1.6 Hdi read there are problems with engine re turbo etc. Bith cars are at 78,000 what sort of service do these need around this point? Would a simple filter and oil change suffice?

Might sound daft but have you actually checked the tyre pressures ? They might look ok but only need to be a bit low to trigger the light

Check this thread which was about the parking sensors.
C5 exclusive parking sensors ---> http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/v ... =3&t=46558" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Nice tip came from Bandit12 there:
"Bandit12 wrote: A simple tip I picked up on this site was to use a screwdriver as a stethoscope. The metal part touching each sensor in turn on the back of the car while holding the plastic handle to your ear. If all is good then you should hear a rapid clicking sound."

Edit: Here is my tip on How to find the broken parking sensor?
Engine running, touch each 4 sensors in front, with your finger tip.
Healthy sensor ticks/vibrates so that you can feel it at your finger tip.
Ticking rate is something like 0.5s.

For rear sensors you should use reverse gear and ask someone to check them while you're pressing the brakes 8-)
