Post by gogdog »

Hi to all and sundry,new to site all help gratefully received.I have a 1.9 2003 XJY berlingo. EML coming on at approx 1500-2000 revs , never from start up ,stays on for maybe 5- 10 seconds, then off again.I found EGR valve actually broken [replaced with new]helped performance but light still intermittent . i've since changed MAS,Green temp sensor and air filter.all helped but did not cure EML. very frustrating this light ....any ideas.

First, welcome aboard. Second, the best thing to do now would be to get it onto a Lexia to see what it tells you. Here is a list of Lexia owners who are willing to help;

If the light came on, there should be stored faults in the ECU. Many generic code readers can't pull them out.

The Lexia system is designed for Citroen and Peugeot cars, and is far more comprehensive in what it can do. Many generic readers cannot make any sense of the Citroen/Peugeot system (as PSA tend to use a proprietary system). I know, as I got a generic reader that didn't know what it was looking at (but it works properly on a Honda).

EDIT; addo got there first.
