Hi, my series 1 Xantia, the original radio has decided to alter the vloume when ever it likes, sometimes bursting my ear drums then next so quiet I cannot hear it !! any ideas why it should start this? is there anything I can do?

I've got a feeling that the TP (Traffic Program) button has been pressed, it's the button on the right hand side set of three on the head unit, check the radio screen to see if the display shows TP, then it can be deactivated by simply pressing the button, the other alternative is to press and hold the TP button for 10 seconds, the volume control should then be displayed as 1 2 or 3 and using the volume button can be turned down.
It's worth noting that if TP is active then the the volume will be louder that the normal volume during Traffic Reports.
