Smashing, thanks very much for the reply:

Is this the unit I should get?

http://www.easydiagnostics.co.uk/shop/4 ... e/11261123

I only have experience with using BMW's INPA, with that I can see all fault codes on every module, run tests, reset adaption values etc. Is this the same for the Lexia-3?

Some people discuss resetting gearbox adoptions when performing a fluid change, is this possible with this kit?

All the best
Rob,

The VCI interface will launch either Lexia or the newer Diagbox software (depending on model and year). It is the same software used by the main dealer so you can perform most of these functions. There are many 'guided' procedures provided within the software including gearbox callibration, actuator tests and very detailed diagnostic information. These will likely do more than any third party tool can as these are dealer-level tools.

Bear in mind that you may want to keep a stable Diagbox software version (I wouldn't go above V7.62 unless you need to) as from this version on, there has been a lot of manual telecoding functions removed from the software, necessitating the use of PSA servers for on-line configuration / downloading - which you won't have access to. This applies to wherever / whoever you purchase the interface / software from outside the PSA network.

Lexia has any member purchased from this seller : )

Post by spiff »

Good afternoon from an overcast Mullion Cove.

Have any members purchased the Lexia and laptop from this eBay seller ?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEXIA-3-CITR ... 1438.l2649

I hear that one buyer was disappointed as the S1278 module in his eBay image was not included.

Marc told me that I do not require that module for my C5.

A ready running system sound good : )

Be great to hear, thank you.

God Bless Spiff

Spiff - It's actually the S1279 module not a S1278 which is why you couldn't get any search results returned - I've replied to your other post - the seller was daviemck2006

https://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/ ... 79#p557546

I've also moved this to the Merged Lexia & Diagbox thread.

P2201: May be related to NOx / EGR - but I have no specific information.
P1600: - Loss of KAM (Keep Alive memory) Power - Open Circuit

As for the others - they don't appear on anything I have and may not be PSA codes.

I’m looking for diagnostics device for my C5 X7. I must admit it is a nightmare.
Because I’m not to good with computers so I look for simplest devise possible. That is why I like icarsoft cp 2.
Can anyone tell me the difference between recommended :

http://www.easydiagnostics.co.uk/shop/4 ... e/11261123

and in my opinion much easier to use:

I have an Easy Diagnostics Lexia clone, and have found it to be very useful. If you do decide to get one of their units quote the following for a 15% discount;

The difference isn’t that a Lexia VCI with Diagbox is a dedicated PSA system and will have far more detailed analysis than a generic reader. It will also be able to perform many of the programming necessary for PSA vehicles

I fall in love in my C5 although in month time (since I brought it) I had more problems with it than any other car
I need my diagnostic tool to clear basic lights. However will I be able to add new wheels (winter set) or switch off tyre pressure system?

Yes you will but you need to be very careful with what you change with it as you can leave your car in a faulty state.

This is a dealer level diagnostic tool. There are no manuals so you need to research and be cautious as to what you do.

You can of course clear temporary faults, but if it is a permanent fault, clearing it will do no good until you address the cause of the fault. This is where the Lexia can help you with detailed fault descriptions.

Perhaps you should first try posting some of your questions on the Forum about the problems and see if that will help you. A Lexia like any other tool will not make the faults magically disappear.

My C5 story is quite long already. Since I’ve brought it I had Depollution System Fault x 2 after around 5 hours on motorway (?).
Tyre pressure system can’t see winter wheel set. Synchro on 4th gear is gone (covert by guarantee, dealer is fixing it as we speak)
And cherry on top- I found metal shavings in fuel filter.
Reason why I’m looking for diagnostics is to check myself what is wrong before I pass it to be fixed. Obviously after checking on forum first 
Also I like to solve problems myself if possible like add new wheels to TPS or check FAP filter.

I had the depollution fault on my C5 Mk1. It turned out there was a pinhole leak on the vacuum pipe about 1cm from the EGR end. After trimming back the pipe the fault cleared up,and has not returned.
