Diagbox is a 32 Bit app, Lexia is a separate App contained and launched from within Diagbox and is 16 bit. That's why Lexia won't launch on a 64 bit OS natively - it can only launch on a 64 bit OS when run under a VM.

WinXP was available in either 32 or 64 bit versions.

Back to the graphics problem reported earlier, does it need Java?
Not for Diagbox

I'll leave this conversation at this point, if anyone wants further details, please PM me.
Seems that WinXP runs a program called wowexec.exe to run 16bit apps rather than NTVDM. I downloaded a 16bit app called total commander and ran it in my WinXP SP3 VM. Under Task Manager processes you can see Total Commander running under wowexec.exe, if you untick the box to show 16 bit apps it disappears.
I can't be sure about the Lexia version launched by Diagbox as I'm using Lexia directly without Diagbox becuase it's faster that way, but on my version of Lexia I don't see it as a 16 bit app & wowexec.exe is not launched.

After 194 Windows updates, plus reboot, plus another 78 updates, reboot, and another 23 updates with reboot I am confident my system is fully up to date including IE.

Using Diagbox v7.02 I again ran personalised parameters, saved them and was asked to "Please Wait", so popped into Aldi to do some shopping. On return, nothing had changed so I clicked the show graph icon and got the same "Graphic Functionality not available" but with an overlay messge titled "From Webpage" with text "MininzedLigne Exception (object error)".

Searching those new terms shows I am not alone but still none the wiser.

I also noticed another difference in that when I went to View Saved Parameters, it wasn't empty this time and showed my recent recording but again, clicking it brings up the same error messages as above. I then went to C:/App/OUTILREP/TRACE/MEMO but again, there is no Saves folder nor any additional files, so I assume they're stored somewhere else?

I feel the pain of it all - I'm patching (wretched Windows Updates failing again) my other systems today including my Diagbox laptop just to safeguard against the topical 'Ransomware' or 'WannaCrypt' threat as Microsoft have made available some patches for older systems given the impact of the malware on systems.

Is this the new laptop or the Atom netbook Mike?

Mike - I just want to make sure you are accessing the right screens:
Go into Diagbox and run a Global Test. Then go into one of the ECU areas like the Injection. Then from the menu, select standard Parameter measurements and pick one of the injection tests like the Fuel Circuit Info. Let it run for a bit so there is some data.
Then go back out to the main screen and close the programme (via the programme itself) and if it asks you if you want to save the reports choose yes.
Then go back into Diagbox and from the menus select 'Reports'. This is where the previous sessions info is kept. Pick the report with today's date that you just did.
Once the report has opened, you should see on the top right a box that says 'Parameter Measures Report'
Diagbox SShot
Diagbox SShot
This should contain all the recorded measurement info of a live test. Clicking on one of these should open it up and there you should see the graphs or the data.
Can you confirm you are getting any of this?

That's not quite the same steps I take, Marc, no. After recording and saving the data, it automatically tries to display the graphical data - that's where it fails with the error messages I've given. At this point, I don't close the application but back out to the View Live Parameters page and chose the third option View Saved Parameters. There I found my recorded data listed but again, clicking it brings up the graphical failure options.

I can try and replicate your specific steps next time but whenever I check in the REPORTS tab, it's invariably empty.

I think I recall that after a session, it asks if you want to save it. Any data from the parameter tests should be there too. I'll try and open up one of the tests shown in the pic above and I'll post up another pic of what is shows.

I'm still updating the Diagbox laptop - still another 200 Mb of updates to go

I'm aware that after any session (not necessarily recording parameters) there is the option to save said session (recognisable by the option to add further info to the notes page, such as odometer reading, technician etc) and I have previously seen those sesssions saved under the reports tab before. However, recording and saving live parameters appears to be a seperate sub-routine so to speak, though I'm not arguing it may also get saved in standard "sessions", I just can't find it there.

I have finished updating my Netbook. Only a few to do. However, one I was working on yesterday (at a clients' site) had 49 updates, 1.2GB!

Well for what it's worth here are a couple of shots (you do need to click on these to get a zoomed crystal view) of the actual test parameters that I took one for the Electronic Parking Brake and the other for the Climate Control - the graphing shows the measurement changes on a timeline left to right. I'd imagine it would be similar for the other tests too Mike. Again, any test data would appear to be saved individually stacked within each report where a test was conducted.

I'm currently installing diagbox and all the updates on my 17" laptop and will try the same to see if I can spot any obvious differences (assuming the graphing will work on the more able hardware!).

Installed Virtualbox on my 17" laptop, then windows xp 32-bit, plus powerISO and 7zip followed by diagbox and all it's updates.... only to have the battery throw in the towel before I could test it. Such fun.

The pain, the pain.....
PSA now recommend 4Gb RAM for newer Diagbox installs for garages Mike, I have 4Gb on my laptop, as it has to be matched memory pairs, so the system can access just over 3Gb. It works fine with that on mine, but 2Gb was painfully slow for me.

Oh joy, get it all working and get out to the car, boot it up, run VB, run Diagbox - no interface.
Switch USB device on for VB.... needs driver. Argghh!
File search, find driver install, install it, screen size too small.
Back indoors to research how to make the full screen visible in the little virtual screen - change XP screen, then lose VB tools menu - no usb device.
Back indoors to research missing VB menu to turn on USB interface.
My neighbours must think I'm mad to-ing and fro-ing with laptop to car but not actually driving anywhere.

Just a fully working solution would be fine for some of us, Marc. (hoho!)
Making it more effecient can come later.

:rofl2: I can just imagine what the neighbours are thinking!
Can't help you VB there Mike, as I only run Diagbox direct because of the USB driver support (or lack of it) in any sort of virtualisation setup.

There's an older post here on accessing the ecran file for video settings, but it may still be valid...
