A proper solid Pleiades tool may do the job as you can whack it with a hammer or fit a bit of scaffold pole over it.
Some of the ebay versions might be up to the task http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Citroen-spher ... 720wt_1399" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; but then again, they might not.
Otherwise you can use a cold chisel and a lump hammer around the seam of the sphere.
Plenty of plus gas and weight in the back with the suspension on high while you're just freeing up the spheres (remember to go on low once they start moving, and also support the car with axle stands while you're working under it so it can't drop and squash you) will help.

We had that problem with the tool I made and one of CitroJim's Activa spheres at the back. His took a proper Pleiades tool to do the job.rsmadmark wrote:ta mate i will give that a try .

I have the tool you link to above and I can confirm it should be up to the job - although it does need some pipe slipping over the handle to roughly double the length of the handle for really stubborn spheres. (The handle is only about 40cm long)Xac wrote:Some of the ebay versions might be up to the task http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Citroen-spher ... 720wt_1399" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; but then again, they might not.
There have been a few revisions of this tool - mine has a side brace welded between the handle and ring not shown in the ebay picture that makes it a lot stronger, and the ones he's sold more recently than mine (that at least one forum member has bought and posted a photo of) have a side brace welded on both sides of the handle to the ring so should be even stronger.
For £15 you can't really go wrong.

Re: xantia hdi estate rear spheres
I can confirm Simon's tool works well shifted the rears on my Xantia that had not been touched in at least 6 years / 100k (and quite probably 12 years and 140k!). Trouble is, it opened up a whole new world of pain when it also removed a large chunk of the cylinder wall, so be prepared for more work....

Re: xantia hdi estate rear spheres
I have one of the ebay ones and can confirm it works very well. As xac says the secret is to be able to whack it with a hammer. I have been changing spheres for nearly 30 years and never been able to remove them as easily as this tool does.
